Alpinexpress offers you a relaxing trip to the high country and the Snowy Mountains. Our journey follows the Monaro Highway to the important regional centre of Cooma followed by the Snowy Mountains Highway and Alpine Way to Jindabyne and Thredbo.
One of the memorable vistas of the trip is the excellent view of Lake Jindabyne, an integral part of the giant Snowy Mountains Hydro Electric Scheme, obtained when the coach is approaching East Jindabyne.
After crossing the dam wall on the Snowy River we enter the bustling new town of Jindabyne - the old town of Jindabyne is under the lake! Soon after Jindabyne the coach starts climbing the Alpine Way to our first request stop at the delightfully located Novotel Lake Crackenback Resort, followed by Bullocks Flat, the base station of Skitube - a rack railway which provides a winter only link to the Perisher Blue skifields.
It is then only a short trip to Thredbo, a picturesque alpine village in the Kosciuszko National Park. For those staying in Thredbo the opportunities are endless. Staying overnight in the mountains is as easy as contacting one of the travel agents or information centres listed on this page.

On Sunday afternoon - or on the Monday of a long weekend - the coach from Thredbo, Jindabyne and Cooma will set down students in Flinders Way for the Canberra Grammar School Boarding House and in Melbourne Avenue for the Canberra Girls Grammar School Boarding House - upon request only. Whilst every effort will be made by Transborder to ensure compliance with the published timetable, Transborder accepts no responsibility for any financial loss incurred, or inconvenience caused by the failure of the coach service to connect with an aircraft at Canberra Airport, a coach at Jolimont Coach terminal or a coach at any other coach stop between Canberra and Thredbo, or a Skitube train at Bullocks Flat. The coach can wait for a limited time only at Canberra Airport for late running aircraft.
